Follicept is a new hair growth product being developed at the University of Florida.  It uses the well known IGF-1 (Insulin-like growth factor) as the hair regrowth treatment.  Follicept didn’t develop IGF-1, but they have developed a technology that provides a safe delivery of IGF-1 directly to the hair follicles.  This delivery mechanism is what they say others have been unable to get right.
Follicept has not yet launched, but when it does it will be an over the counter product that is directly competing with minoxidil and finasteride.  The price should cost about the same as Rogaine.  Follicept claims that it should be safer and more effective when compared to Minoxidil and Finsteride.
The product launch is planned for May 2015 and their website is currently collecting emails for those interested.
Once we know more details about exactly how much Follicept will cost, if it works, or have some before and after pics we will post them.  If you are part of the clinical trials for Follicept and can send some before and after pictures it would be great.
Only time will tell if Follicept can live up to the big expectations that have been set.  Do you think Follicept will work or not?
