Becoming a Christian

God says:
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9,10)

Jesus, our Savior, took your place and died on the cross for your sins. Every sin you have ever committed will be wiped from the memory of God when you acknowledge that Jesus died for you and when you ask God to forgive you and invite Jesus to be Lord of your life.

If you want to experience the joy of salvation, please pray this prayer with your heart and mouth.

"Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and that you were raised from the dead. I confess that I am a sinner and I ask your forgiveness and pray that you would become Lord of my life from this moment on. Jesus, I commit my life to you."

If you have prayed this prayer, congratulations and welcome to the Kingdom of God!

I want to encourage you to:

  1. Pray daily, asking God to walk with you from morning till night. His Word says: "Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn" (Psalms 37:5,6)
  2. Read the Bible daily.
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers, But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. (Psalms 1:1-3)
  3. Find a good church.
"Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)
